VERSAILLES - Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, is proud to present its new Executive Chef, Frédéric Larquemin, who will be taking hold of the reins in all the hotel kitchens, including the Michelin starred restaurant "Gordon Ramsay au Trianon", the luxury brasserie "La Véranda by Gordon Ramsay" and all of the event rooms.
35-year-old Frédéric Larquemin previously worked as Executive Chef in the Alain Ducasse restaurant of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha (Qatar). He joined the Alain Ducasse group in 2004 and has worked in the Louis XV in Monaco, the Dorchester in London and the Plaza Athénée in Paris.
Graduate of the prestigious cookery school Ferrandi, in 2002, he met Gordon Ramsay in London and worked alongside him for two years at Claridge's.
Frédéric Larquemin interprets contemporary cooking, combining the great classics of French cooking with flavours discovered during his international experiences. Living in Versailles himself, in the heart of the royal town, he plans to work with beautiful local ingredients. "I'll go to the market and the surrounding farms", he says with delight. Frédéric Larquemin aims to "give Trianon Palace Versailles the cooking it deserves".
For Grégoire Salamin, General Manager of Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, the arrival of Frédéric Larquemin, young chef from Normandy trained by Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse, is the answer to the ambition of this historic hotel in Versailles to make the French art of living shine, both locally and internationally.

Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel
Ideally situated in the grandiose surrounds of the chateau of Versailles and still close to Paris, Trianon Palace Versailles opened its doors in 1910. After the opening, world famous people such as Marcel Proust, Sarah Bernhardt and René Lacoste, became regular visitors drawn by the luxurious accommodation and the calm of its royal surroundings. Other notable guests included The Duke and Duchess of Windsor who spent their honeymoon at the hotel.
Before joining Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, multi-million major renovation projects were undertaken under the guidance of British interior designer Fiona Thompson, who gave a contemporary design to the entire hotel and guest rooms.
The 199 rooms and suites are a peaceful haven of elegance and sophistication. Every detail of the decoration reflects the quintessence of French luxury.
The Chef's Gourmet creations in Michelin starred "Gordon Ramsay au Trianon" restaurant and the refined cuisine of "La Veranda by Gordon Ramsay" brasserie will take you on an exciting culinary journey. During Spring and Summer seasons, the outdoor terraces invite for lunch and dinner with spectacular view over the Plaine de la Reine. The "Bar Galerie" and its terrace are ideal places for sharing a drink or a light meal.
The elegant Guerlain Spa, a 2,800m2 sanctuary of beauty, relaxation, and fitness designed to harmonize body and mind, offers the perfect reflection of the hotel's serene woodland surroundings. Majestic Roman pillars blend with an alluring modern design, crafting the perfect romance of ancient healing ambiance and contemporary luxury. Heated indoor swimming pool, 14 private treatment rooms, a sauna and steam room feature an extensive menu of bespoke treatments for face and body.
As for the hotel's gardens, they have been designed by famous French landscaper Louis Benech.
